Recognising the vital importance of environmental stewardship, Lignacite has committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030 – a full 20 years ahead of the UK Government’s national target.

From its earliest products made with wood particles and recycled aggregates, Lignacite has consistently demonstrated a proactive approach to environmental responsibility. The company was among the first in its sector to verify the recycled content of its concrete blocks, setting a benchmark for transparency and accountability within the industry.

Working in close partnership with suppliers, customers, and industry bodies, Lignacite continually seeks new ways to enhance its sustainability performance. This includes implementing advanced measures to control and reduce the environmental impact of its operations, while simultaneously investing in the research and development of more sustainable materials and processes.

Investment and Future Focus

Lignacite has made significant investments to ensure that sustainability is embedded at every stage of its operations. This includes the introduction of energy-efficient manufacturing systems, the use of solar power, and water recycling initiatives across its sites. These initiatives are not only reducing the company’s environmental footprint but also reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable construction materials.

Additionally, Lignacite developed their ECO Range in May - their biggest product launch in decades.
